1.) Clay tiles Clay tiles are durable and water resistant. However, they are quite expensive and heavy – which may pressurize your house depending on its structure.
2.) Concrete tiles Concrete roof tiles are a great alternative to clay tiles. They are also durable and cheaper than clay tiles. However, concrete tiles are heavy and they may pressurize your house.
3.) Metal Metal roofs are attractive and durable, although their production is quite energy-intensive. These roofs often contain recycled material and can be recycled at the end of their lifetime.
4.) Asphalt shingles Asphalt shingles are among the most affordable roofing materials and hence the most common house roof type.

6.) Wood shakes Often made of cedar, wood shakes are beautiful roofing products. Shakes without additives, preservatives or moss inhibitors are highly recommendable due to their environmental friendliness.
7.) Fiber cement Fiber cement looks like slate although it is much lighter. It is made by mixing cellulose fiber and cement. This material is both weather and fire-resistant.
